Well to sum it up, week one was ROUGH! That first run of the week felt like a lot more work than the same run did just a few weeks ago and the strength training was embarrassingly tough. I have more strength training work to do than I realized! We had snow in the middle of the week, so that meant two days of treadmill training. For Wednesdays workout (which I try to have as a trail run) was incline work on the treadmill instead. Then on Thursday, I completely forgot strength training….clearly this needs to be a higher priority! Saturday’s 8 mile run was interrupted with a very fast moving snow storm. And Sunday’s cross training? Well that was tailgating at the Bronco’s game (they suck by the way)… so the big lessons this week:
- Don’t take nearly full two weeks off after a race. That will not happen again, it is too much work to get going again.
- It’s tough to get going again, but the important thing is to do it, do something, do anything!
- Keep going – when things are tough just get through it!
Hoping for more solid training this week!
