Week 1 Results

Well to sum it up, week one was ROUGH! That first run of the week felt like a lot more work than the same run did just a few weeks ago and the strength training was embarrassingly tough. I have more strength training work to do than I realized! We had snow in the middle of the week, so that meant two days of treadmill training. For Wednesdays workout (which I try to have as a trail run) was incline work on the treadmill instead. Then on Thursday, I completely forgot strength training….clearly this needs to be a higher priority! Saturday’s 8 mile run was interrupted with a very fast moving snow storm. And Sunday’s cross training? Well that was tailgating at the Bronco’s game (they suck by the way)… so the big lessons this week:

  1. Don’t take nearly full two weeks off after a race. That will not happen again, it is too much work to get going again.
  2. It’s tough to get going again, but the important thing is to do it, do something, do anything!
  3. Keep going – when things are tough just get through it!
